Interestingly, this isn't a remake of the original story, but is set up as a sequel of sorts, with Alice returning to Wonderland as a grown woman. Alice is played by Mia Wasikowska. I've never heard of her, but apparently she was in the HBO series In Treatment, which my friend Janelle and I watched a couple of eps of on DVD before deciding to watch something else.
Anyway, this looks pretty cool. If nothing else, I'm sure I'll enjoy Depp's performance and will be impressed by the visuals.
