No Age - Everything In Between Details

LA noise punks No Age have a new record coming out September 28.  It's called Everything In Between.

I loved the Losing Feeling EP that No Age released last year.  Very excited to hear their next full length album.  Might move me from a 'casual' fan of the band to 'diehard' fan status.  We'll see.

Here's the tracklisting:

  1. Life Prowler
  2. Glitter
  3. Fever Dreaming
  4. Depletion
  5. Common Heat
  6. Skinned
  7. Katerpillar
  8. Valley Hump Crash
  9. Sorts
  10. Dusted
  11. Positive Amputation
  12. Shed and Transcend
  13. Chem Trails

Soundgarden - Telephantism

Soundgarden are back.  They just played what I believe is their first show outside of Seattle in many years this past weekend at Lollapalooza in Chicago.  And now they've announced details for Telephantism, a new 'best of' compilation with one new song - "Black Rain", an outtake from the Badmotorfinger era.

Single disc edition tracklisting:

01) Hunted Down
02) Hands All Over
03) Outshined
04) Rusty Cage
05) Birth Ritual
06) Black Hole Sun
07) Spoonman
08) My Wave
09) Fell On Black Days
10) Burden In My Hand
11) Blow Up The Outside World
12) Black Rain

Now Soundgarden already have a 'best of' disc called A-Sides, and it's hard not to compare the tracklistings...where's "Jesus Christ Pose", "The Day I Tried to Live", and "Pretty Noose"?  One mega gem of a song missing from each of the band's last 3 records, that's pretty shameful.

I'll try to focus on the positive - this new release will help introduce a new generation to the awesomeness that is Soundgarden, and a new unreleased song from the Badmotorfinger era sounds very promising.

In an interesting bit of cross-promotion, Telephantism will be packaged for free with Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, if you buy it in the first week after it's released.

Weezer - 'Hurley' Cover

So...how do you top an album with a flying dog on the cover named Raditude in terms of ridiculousness?

How about a closeup of the face of that pudgy dude Hurley from LOST on the cover, and the album's called Hurley?

Nailed it.

Weezer, I will always love you, but you don't make it easy.

Hurley drops September 14.
