I had no idea who Kurt Vile was, but I saw that Atlas Sound covered his song "Freak Train" on the first volume of his Bedroom Databank series. An endorsement from Bradford Cox is good enough for me, so I listened to Kurt Vile's current record Childish Prodigy.
I'm really glad I did - this is a great record. Singer-songwriter with a harmonica type music. He has a free flowing vocal style that kind of reminds me of Dan Bejar, but with a totally different delivery.
Anyway, Kurt Vile has a new record coming out shortly, which I'll cover in another post. But definitely check the dude's music out.
