Nintendo 3DS Launch Details
Nintendo of America have announced US launch details for their new portable system, the Nintendo 3DS, which, in addition to more graphical horsepower than the current DS, projects a 3D image that you can see without having to wear special glasses.
The Nintendo 3DS will hit stores on Sunday, March 27. The suggested retail price is $249.99.
The $250 price point is exactly what I predicted...$300 would have been a bit too expensive for a portable gaming machine, and Nintendo knows how to price their machines well - the Wii's pricing is one of the factors that contributed to its massive mainstream success.
Nintendo has yet to announce which launch titles will be available on Day 1. Here's hoping for Kid Icarus: Uprising and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D.

Super Mario Bros. 25th Anniversary!
The NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) classic Super Mario Bros. turns 25 today! The game played a major part of 'ushering in' console gaming, and the series has continued to be hugely influential throughout the past 2.5 decades.
The fact that Super Mario Galaxy 2 takes ideas, concepts and characters from this 25 year old title and turns them into something fresh and exciting is nothing short of amazing. And you know what? The original game is still mad fun to play. I'm going to give my PS3 a break tonight and play some old school Mario on the Wii (via Virtual Console).
